Snell & Wilcox Kahuna Now Integrated with Calrec Audio Board

Snell & Wilcox’s Kahuna SD/HD multiformat production switcher is now fully integrated with the complete line of digital consoles from Calrec Audio. The close integration of the Snell & Wilcox Kahuna with Calrec Audio consoles allows a single operator to control audio and video levels from the Kahuna interface. By centralizing control at a single point, this solution enables users of the Kahuna and Calrec Audio systems to reduce the operational requirements of smaller productions and thus lower overall production costs.

Snell & Wilcox implemented the Calrec Audio remote protocol to enable remote control of fader modules on any Calrec Audio digital console via the Kahuna production switcher. When the demands of the production require only a single operator, the close integration of these systems puts straightforward control over all necessary video and audio channels at the user’s fingertips. With Kahuna directly controlling up to 192 faders on the Calrec Audio system, operators can select any number of audio channels and provide individual control of faders, fade rates, and pfl.
