Txtstation Integrates With Daktronics Ribbon Boards

By Carolyn Braff

Txtstation mobile marketing has been putting high definition
graphics on video scoreboard displays since 2004, but this week, the company
found a way to put its fan voting graphics on text-based ribbon and LED boards,
as well. Teaming up with Daktronics, Txtstation now has a unique application
that significantly increases the company’s reach inside any arena.
“Basically an asset is served through the Web alongside our graphics for the
video board that can also output the data feed to a simple text file,” explains
Michael Falato, VP sales and business development for Txtstation. “That text
file can be used on ribbon boards and LED boards that are not able to handle
video.”

Previously, Txtstation’s graphics were all high-end, high definition images
that were sent to a video board, and the company had no way to feed information
to a ribbon system. After a few weeks of working with Daktronics, the two
companies came up with the application, thereby allowing teams and stadiums
using Daktronics systems to tap into Txtstation’s real-time text-to-screen
graphics.

“A lot of main video boards are jam-packed with advertisements and focusing on
the content of the game,” Falato explains. “This application allows for the
game presentation people to interact with the fans and not necessarily
interfere with the content.”
