Scott Sternberg Joins ESPN International as VP Digital Media

Scott
Sternberg, senior director or business development at Yahoo!, has joined ESPN International
as vice president, International Digital Media. Sternberg, who has nearly 20
years of media, technology and telecom executive experience, will work on the
development and growth of ESPN’s international Web, wireless and broadband
businesses. He will be based at ESPN’s New York
and Bristol
offices and report to Arne Rees, VP of International Development.
“Scott’s
extensive background within large, global media environments will be a
tremendous asset to ESPN as we continue to grow our international new media
businesses,” Rees says.
At Yahoo!,
Sternberg worked on many of the company’s key initiatives. He led the
partnership with SBC Communications (2002-2005), managed business development
and product strategy for Yahoo!’s partnership with FIFA and the creation of www.fifaworldcup.com(2005-2006). He also worked on many of its key
publisher partnerships (2007- 2008).
Before
Yahoo!, Sternberg worked for Excite@Home (1997-2001) most recently as director,
Channel Alliances. Sternbergalsoworked for Speed Vision
and Outdoor Life networks (1995-97); as Southeast Account Manager;and
Petry Television as an account executive (1989-93)
Sternberg
received a B.A. in Economics from the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and
an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
