NACDA Named Sponsoring Association of CSVS
Story Highlights
The National Association of Collegiate Directors of
Athletics (NACDA) is highlighting the growing support among athletic directors
for the use of video production in their departments by becoming a sponsoring
association of College Sports Video Summit, presented by the Sports Video
Group. To help ensure that the program meets the needs of athletic directors as
well as the video production community, NACDA deputy executive director Bob
Vecchione has also been named to CSVS the advisory committee.
“NACDA has worked closely with SVG at our convention over
the past two years to develop awareness among our members about the latest
technology tools,” Vecchione explains. “We are pleased to see that this hard
work has resulted in the launch of this focused Video Summit, which will
further this important mission and help our members educate their staffs about
expanding the value of their content on television, the Internet and mobile
devices.”
Held June 9-10 at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta, the two-day
College Sports Video Summit is designed to advance the creation, production and
distribution of sports content by colleges and universities, conferences, and
their media partners. CSVS features a keynote address by college sports
broadcasting pioneer Chris Bevilacqua, Chairman/CEO of CAA Sports Media
Ventures, and is also the site of the first Global Media Awards for College
Sports, produced by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences
(NATAS) and SVG.
The second day of the Summit
includes a series of focused workshops in two tracks, one dedicated to
video-related business strategies that were developed with the needs of
athletic directors in mind. Directors of athletics are encouraged to attend all
or parts of the program, depending on their needs. A full agenda can be found
at the CSVS Website, www.CSVSummit.com.
“NACDA looks forward to collaborating closely with SVG in
the years ahead to effectively expand the use of video production for all three
screens in athletic departments around the country,” Vecchione says.
NACDA, now in its 44th year, is the professional and
educational association for more than 6,500 college athletics administrators at
more than 1,600 institutions throughout the United
States, Canada,
and Mexico.
More than 2,300 athletics administrators annually attend the NACDA Convention.
Additionally, NACDA administers 11 professional associations that come under
the umbrella of the Athletics Director. For more information, visit www.nacda.com.
