The New
York Mets have invested in Ross live production technologies for the new Citi
Field HD control room.

“We
did an industry wide search for HD switchers and servers as part of our new
control room design, and Ross offered the best feature set and value,” explains
Tim Gunkel, senior director of marketing production for the New York Mets. “Ross
understands the unique requirements of stadium productions and provides
outstanding after sale support. The Vision QMD/X Digital Production Switcher,
with MultiPanel control capabilities along with the SoftMetal Video Server
(SMS) will play a key role in delivering Mets fans the ultimate game day
experience at the Mets’ new world class home.”
Citi Field
will make its official debut with the regular season home opener on April 13,
2009, however, the new control room were completed and ready for the full
production of two pre-season exhibition games against the Boston Red Sox on
April 3 and 4.
“We
have had a long term relationship with the New York Mets, and we’re honored to
be a part of the new Citi Field stadium control room,” says David Ross, CEO of
Ross Video. “Vision’s architecture lends itself well to managing
multi-screen productions and has proved to be very popular in the sports
stadium market. SoftMetal video server technology is fast becoming the stadium
standard for clip and graphic playout.”
The new
ballpark features natural grass and capacity for approximately 42,000 fans. A
contoured seating configuration will bring spectators closer to the field on
all levels to provide optimal sightlines for a more intimate and entertaining
experience throughout the park.
