NESN Sets Opening Day Ratings Record

NESN earned a 17.9 average household rating in the Boston DMA for its coverage of Tuesday’s Boston Red Sox Opening Day victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, topping its previous Opening Day ratings mark, a 17.6 when the Sox opened at the New York Yankees in primetime April 3, 2005.

The regional sports network said the game topped every primetime show in the market.

NESN’s one-hour pregame show, Olympia Sports Presents The Boston Globe Red Sox Game Day LIVE, also set a record for the network. It posted a 4.3, marking NESN’s highest-rated Opening Day preshow.
