Mets Home Opener a Record for SportsNet New York

SportsNet New York earned a 4.65 household rating, or more than 434,500 total viewers, for the first-ever regular-season game at Citi Field, in which the visiting San Diego Padres edged the New York Mets 6-5.

Monday night’s game was the highest-rated and most-watched Mets home opener ever on a regional sports network, besting the previous record from April 1, 2002, Mets-Pittsburgh Pirates on Madison Square Garden Network, which posted a 3.9 household rating.

ESPN also aired the game in the New York market, and that network picked up a 1.1.
