Sony Creative Software Brings Vegas to Vegas

Sony Creative Software brought Vegas to Vegas, introducing its Vegas Pro 9 nonlinear HD video- and audio-editing (NLE) application and its Vegas Pro Production Assistant software plug-in at NAB.

Vegas Pro 9 features a new customizable interface, as well as improvements including direct browsing and import of Sony XDCAM EX footage; native file support for the RED ONE camera; compress to MXF file format during capture from SD/HDSDI sources; a scalable 4K workflow; and new effects and editing enhancements. It is scheduled to be available May 11 at a suggested retail price of $699.95.

The Vegas Pro Production Assistant plug-in uses scripting capabilities to automate repetitive production processes. It is also compatible with Vegas Pro 8, and it is also set for a May 11 release at a suggested retail price of $199.
