MultiDyne Intros Seven Products

By Debra Kaufman

MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optics Systems, a provider of fiber-optic equipment for the transport of video and audio for broadcast and pro A/V applications, came to the NAB Show with a portfolio of seven new products.

The HD-3500 Series is a 3-Gbps single-mode fiber-optic transport link available either modular or frame-mounted. The series is positioned as a cost-effective solution for fiber-optic transport of multi-rate HD-SDI signals ranging from 5 Mbps to 3.0 Gbps plus two AES or four audio, bidirectional data and two return audio over a single fiber.

MultiDyne also announced that it has joined Ross Video’s openGear platform standard and is launching a 3-Gb multiplexed card set with this standard. The openGear standard is aimed at offering flexible and advanced terminal equipment from many technology providers, all in one platform under one control system.

Another new product is the new DVI-6000 Series, an evolutionary fiber-optic transport solution for uncompressed high-quality DVI signals up to WQXGA resolution of 2560×1600.

The MultiDyne LiGHTBoX 1430 MC is a field portable transport solution with a Multi-Core connector interfacing directly with the camera and/or the CCU. It’s designed for field and harsh environment applications, such as mobile production, sports, stadiums, military, and any field application where battery-powered equipment is required. The LiGHTBoX can be linked via tactical fiber cable to any MultiDyne product.

The EOS-4000 series of electro-optical routing switchers are multipurpose, non-blocking, wide-bandwidth switchers for high-speed switching between fiber-optic I/Os.

The HD Multi-Link Hybrid Optical HD DA offers a midpoint fiber distribution breakout box for up to three copper HD-SDI outputs up to 3 Gbps and an HDMI output for local monitoring, plus audio monitoring.

Last, the Fiber-Comm breakout box provides fiber-optic extension for four-wire intercom lines and can be used as a cost-effective integrated component in the LiGHTBoX field portable fiber-optic transport system.
