T-VIPS (Booth SU1219) in showcasing the benefits of visually lossless JPEG2000 encoding systems for sports contribution links and other high-quality, low-latency applications. The company also announced ATSC-ready products, including integration with Triveni Digital GuideBuilder.

“The combination of our advantages in quality and our high return on investment is leading to an acceleration in broadcasters’ choosing T-VIPS contribution and distribution solutions,” says T-VIPS CEO Johnny Dolvik. “JPEG2000 itself offers real advantages over the MPEG alternative in contribution. Furthermore, T-VIPS solutions are more advanced and better field-tested than any other JPEG2000 solutions available today.”

T-VIPS introduced several new ATSC products. The CP541 is an intelligent seamless 1+1 redundancy switch, which will seamlessly switch between two identical streams if one input is lost or impaired — enabling redundant studio-transmitter links, for example.

The CP510 is a flexible PSI/SI and PSIP filter that provides powerful PID and program filtering. The CP525 is an MPEG-2 transport-stream multiplexer designed for use when regionalizing multiplexes and adapting PSI/SI and PSIP for region-specific services.
