Chicago’s 2016 Summer Olympics Bid a Shure Thing

Shure and the Chicago office of On Stage Audio provided technical assistance with wireless microphones used during the International Olympic Committee’s Evaluation Commission’s official inspection visit to Chicago April 5, as the city made its pitch to host the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Shure UHF-R handheld and lavalier wireless-microphone systems were used at cultural centers and potential event sites including Soldier Field, the DuSable Museum, and the United Center. And two wired SM58 microphones with on-off switches were used on the bus transporting the group.

The host city will be announced Oct. 2 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
