Blue-Chip Ratings for ESPN’s NFL Draft Coverage

A total of 36.7 million people tuned in to at least part of the 15 1/2 hours of NFL Draft coverage on ESPN and ESPN2 this past weekend, making it the most-viewed NFL Draft in the network’s 30 years of airing the event. Last year’s NFL Draft drew 34.8 million viewers, and the previous record was 36.3 million in 2006.

ESPN also says traffic to NFL content on the ESPN Mobile Web site was up 145% compared with last year, and views of video on ESPN.com were up 22%.

The highest-rated markets for coverage of the NFL Draft’s first day Saturday were: Columbus, Ohio (7.4); New Orleans (6.9); Cleveland (6.8); Milwaukee (6.2); and Indianapolis (6.2).
