First Round of NHL Postseason Sets TSN Record

The first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs brought a record audience to Canada’s TSN, as the sports network drew a national average of 567,000 viewers, up 42% increase from 399,000 last year.

The 2008-09 figure topped TSN’s previous high of 440,000 viewers, set during the first round of the 1992 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

TSN’s playoff run will continue with exclusive Canadian coverage of all games from the Eastern Conference semifinal series featuring the Boston Bruins vs. the Carolina Hurricanes and the Western Conference semifinal series pitting the Detroit Red Wings against the Anaheim Ducks.
