Media Broadcast Kicks Way Into 2009 Confederations Cup, 2010 World Cup

Media Broadcast will team up with South African telecommunications company Telkom SA and systems integrator Telecom 180 to provide video-contribution services for two major upcoming soccer tournaments: the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.

Media Broadcast will use Telkom SA’s high-speed fiber-optic infrastructure to plan, build, and operate an IP-based broadcast platform for all types of contribution networks and video-signal distribution, including high-resolution HDTV images.

The FIFA Confederations Cup is being held at the Bloemfontein, Pretoria, Rustenburg, and Johannesburg stadiums, while the 2010 FIFA World Cup will originate from a total of 10 stadiums.
