NBC Earns Highest Kentucky Derby Ratings Since 1992

NBC raced to the highest Kentucky Derby ratings in 17 years, posting a 10.2 overnight rating and 22 share for its coverage off the huge upset victory by 50-1 long shot Mine That Bird and easily topping the 9.5/21 earned by last year’s race, which featured much-hyped horse Big Brown.

Mine That Bird’s bid to win the second leg of the Triple Crown will come Saturday, May 16, when NBC will air The Preakness Stakes from Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore at 4:30 p.m. ET.
