TNT Nets Record with First-Round NBA Playoff Coverage

TNT’s coverage of the first round of the NBA Playoffs set a cable-television record, topping last season’s previous record-breaking performance and highlighted by game seven of the series between the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics, won by Boston.

TNT posted an 11% increase in households compared with the 2007-08 season, to 2.597 million, and a 14% gain in total viewers to 3.379 million. Its 24 games earned an average rating of 2.3.

Game seven of the Bulls-Celtics series Saturday drew 5.017 million households and 6.987 million total viewers, both round-one cable-television records. TNT posted a 4.4 household rating for the game.
