ESPN achieved its highest ratings and most viewers in calendar-year 2009 with its telecast of game three of the NBA Conference Semifinal series between the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets Friday night, delivering a 4.5 rating and an average of 4.432 million households and 5.952 million viewers.
The Lakers’ 108-94 win in Houston was the highest-rated conference semifinal telecast since 2006, for game six of the series between the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks, from Dallas.
The Lakers-Rockets matchup earned an 11.9 rating in Los Angeles.
