CBS College Sports Sets 1989 Lacrosse Finals Documentary

CBS College Sports Network will mark the 20th anniversary of the 1989 Lacrosse National Championship Game in which Syracuse defeated Johns Hopkins 13-12 by airing documentary Legends: The 1989 NCAA Lacrosse Championship Sunday, May 24 at 2:30 p.m. ET.

The game featured two squads that combined to win eight of the 11 previous NCAA titles and drew a then-record 23,893 fans at Byrd Stadium on the University of Maryland campus.

Legends: The 1989 NCAA Lacrosse Championship features interviews with players and coaches from the 1989 Syracuse and Johns Hopkins teams including: Roy Simmons Jr. (SU head coach in 1989), John Desko (assistant coach in 1989, current SU head coach) Gary Gait, Matt Palumb (SU goalie in 1989), Steve Scaramuzzino (SU defenseman, team captain in 1989), Dave Pietramala (current JHU head coach), Don Zimmerman (JHU head coach in 1989, current coach at UMBC), Quint Kessenich (JHU goalie in 1989, lacrosse commentator), Brendan Kelly (JHU midfielder, team captain in 1989), and Bill Dwan (JHU defender in 1989, current assistant coach).
