NBC, Versus Hit the Ice for Stanley Cup Finals

Now that the Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings have clinched their berths in the Stanley Cup Finals—a rematch of last year’s matchup, won by Detroit—NBC and Versus announced their TV schedule for the NHL’s championship round. NBC will air games one, two, five (if necessary), six (if necessary), and seven (if necessary), while Versus will deliver games three and four.

Pierre McGuire will continue his “Inside the Glass” coverage, in which he is stationed between both benches and “translates hockey shorthand” from coaches and players, as he puts it, for viewers. NBC Sports coordinating producer Sam Flood added that analyst Eddie Olczyk was also “fighting for more telestration elements.”
