ESPNDB Tips Off NBA Finals Interviews

ESPNDB, the sports network’s in-development sports-information archive and encyclopedia-style content database, marked the start of the NBA Finals with the launch of a package of interviews with more than 20 NBA Finals stars and legends sharing their experiences and stories.

The interviews, conducted from May 19-June 3, were with: Angelo Musi (1947 Warriors), Red Klotz (1948 Bullets), Slater Martin (1950, 1952-54 Lakers, 1958 Hawks), Bob Wanzer (1951 Royals), Dolph Schayes (1955 Nationals), Ernie Beck (1956 Warriors), Tom Heinsohn (1957, 1956-65 Celtics as player, 1974 and 1976 Celtics as coach), Bob Pettit (1958 Hawks), Dr. Jack Ramsay (1967 76ers as general manager, 1977 Trail Blazers as coach), Willis Reed (1970 and 1973 Knicks), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1971 Bucks, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987-88 Lakers), Jerry West (1972 Lakers as player, 1980s and 2000s Lakers in front office), Al Attles (1975 Warriors as coach), Elvin Hayes (1978 Bullets), Lenny Wilkens (1979 Sonics as coach), Michael Cooper (1980, 1982, 1985, 1987-88 Lakers), Billy Cunningham (1983 76ers), Bobby Jones (1983 76ers), Joe Dumars (1989-90 Pistons as player, 2004 Pistons as GM), Scottie Pippen (1991-93, 1996-98 Bulls), Robert Horry (1994-95 Rockets, 2000-02 Lakers, 2005 and 2007 Spurs), Avery Johnson (1999 Spurs), and Steve Kerr (1996-98 Bulls, 1999 and 2003 Spurs).
