Andrita Media Center to Install Front Porch DIVArchive
The Andrita Media Center in Los Angeles, which bills itself as the largest independent digital HD media facility on the West Coast, will use Front Porch Digital’s DIVArchive system to manage the transfer, storage, and restoration of content for the 26 television channels it broadcasts around-the-clock, representing a total of almost 100 terabytes of video files.
The Andrita archive is also in the process of being migrated archive to Spectra Logic LTO-4 tape storage, and a proxy server is being implemented to allow browsing of stored images.
Front Porch describes DIVArchive as a hardware and software solution that supports a unified system of near-line disk and data tape libraries, managing and moving digitized media content throughout its lifecycle, from ingest to long-term preservation.
The Andrita Media Center, owned and operated by Broadcast Facilities, is a state-of-the-art, 106,000-square-foot, multichannel HD/standard-definition digital-server-based network-origination, satellite-transmission, production, and postproduction media facility.
