Grass Valley Adds H.264 Support to MEDIAEDGE4

Grass Valley added support for the H.264 MPEG-4 compression standard to its MEDIAEDGE4 digital-signage and on-demand content-delivery platform, and the company will demonstrate the latest version at InfoComm 2009 in Orlando, FL, June 14-19.

The company says the addition of H.264 support will allow users to store and distribute more HD content from a single server than ever before, and the HDMI output on the system’s set-top player allows it to send HD images to more screens.

The new MEDIAEDGE4 system will be available during the third quarter.
