MultiDyne Introduces Fiber-Comms Four-Wire Optical Extender

MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems debuted its Fiber-Comms four-wire optical extender designed for intercom lines at InfoComm 2009 in Orlando, FL. The company says Fiber-Comms transports from one to eight intercom or IFB channels, and it can also transport control and signaling data.

Fiber-Comms handles 24-bit audio flat from 20 to 20 KHz and has an S/N greater than 90 dB and a THD less than 0.05%.

When used in conjunction with MultiDyne’s COMMS-2000 two-wire to four-wire converter, Fiber-Comms can extend a two-wire system, the company adds. It also serves as a component for MultiDyne’s LiGHTBoX field portable fiber optic transport system.

Fiber-Comms includes an XLR cable with a four-wire XLR input and output, and it is available in portable and rack-mount configurations.
