Neutrik Donates Connectors to Oregon State University

Neutrik USA donated several DL Series XLR connectors to Oregon State University for its Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) project, which features student design and development of small formula-style racecars built to rigid safety and performance specifications.

The DL Series XLRs (NC5FD-L-1) are universal D-size metal body panel-mount XLRs featuring five-pole female receptacles with nickel housing, silver contacts, and solder cups.

The connectors were incorporated into the Motronic Engine System employed in the university’s racecar design, communicating with the vehicle’s engine-management system, the ECU (Engine Control Unit), which controls the engine’s performance and allows students to tune and control the engine efficiently, as well as controlling fuel consumption for endurance/economy events and providing maximum power for acceleration and autocross events.
