Telecast Fiber Systems Rocks Bonnaroo

Python transmitter/receivers, the Adder II audio multiplexer, and a set of Rattler miniature fiber-optic serial digital-video-transmission modules from Telecast Fiber Systems helped Chicago-based mobile-production company Trio Video to transmit HD-video feeds throughout the 100-acre venue in Manchester, TN, where the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival was held earlier this month.

The Python transmitter/receivers enabled Trio to transmit and receive up to eight signals, or to transmit up to 16 one-way signals to the main production truck. The Adder II audio multiplexer and Rattler digital-video-transmission modules allowed Trio to move audio and video feeds around the venue. And Trio developed a custom solution based on the Telecast equipment to deliver up to 30 channels of content to the VIP areas.

Trio normally focuses on sports production—WGN TV, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, and the NFL on Fox—but it developed a niche offering production services for large, multiday, multistage music festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Outside Lands.
