Social-Networking Sites Love NBA’s Game
The NBA is a Facebook millionaire: Its official page on the social-networking site topped 1 million fans, reaching a total of 1,029,184. The league also said its WNBA Facebook page recently surpassed 100,000 fans, and the NBA D-League has a Facebook page, as well.
The league’s success isn’t limited to Facebook: According to Tracking Twitter, the official NBA Twitter page is the third-rated brand on that social-networking site, based on followers, as it accumulated more than 785,000 since its February launch. And the YouTube NBA Channel has seen more than 286 million videos viewed since its February 2007 debut.
