CSN Chicago Shatters Blackhawks Ratings Record
For the third time this season, Comcast SportsNet Chicago delivered its highest rating ever for a Chicago Blackhawks regular season game on Jan. 7, scoring a 3.43 household rating during the Blackhawks road game against the Boston Bruins. The Blackhawks’ 5-3 victory was their fifth in a row and pushes the team’s point total to 65, good for first place in the Western Conference.
According to Nielsen Media Research, the broadcast brought in approximately 120,084 households for the game and notched a 4.35 peak rating during the 7:15 quarter hour (148,793 households). The 3.43 rating shatters the previous record set just two weeks before during a Dec. 23 game against the Detroit Red Wings (3.27).
So far this season, CSN Chicago’s Blackhawks broadcasts are averaging a 2.09 household rating, which is a 99% increase over last season through 27 telecasts.
