Czech Theater Installs Comprehensive Riedel Communications System
Janacek Theatre, the second largest theater in the Czech Republic, exchanged its old communications system for a comprehensive installation from Riedel Communications. Riedel delivered an extensive solution combining Artist digital matrix intercom with digital partyline, and a traditional radio system. MusicData, Riedel’s Czech distribution partner for Theater and ProAV, handled the installation.
At the heart of the system is a Riedel Artist 64 digital matrix. Artist is a flexible and expandable digital matrix intercom system that supports up to 1,024×1,024 non-blocking ports and is equipped with redundant CPUs and power supplies.
The Janacek Theatre utilizes a total of ten Artist 3000 series control panels as well as 21 Artist 5000 series panels. They provide the full functionality of Riedel’s other digital matrix panels at an entry-level price. To implement the signalization within the Janacek theatre, an additional GPI client card was used in the Artist matrix mainframe.
A Performer digital partyline installation was used to further enhance the communications infrastructure at the site. A total of six beltpacks can be connected to the partyline throughout the whole building. Performer offers fully digital audio without hum or interference. It provides two-channel intercom operation plus additional program sound on one standard XLR microphone cable with broadcast quality audio.
Six RiFace interfaces integrate mobile radios into the wired communications infrastructure. The existing telephone system is connected to the intercom installation via Riedel Connect Solo interfaces.
15 medium-weight PRO headsets complete the setup.
