Qualcomm to Add TiVo-Like Recording to Flo Mobile-TV Service

BusinessWeek.com reports that Qualcomm plans to add TiVo-like television recording functions to wireless devices in an effort to stoke consumer interest in its mobile-TV service.

Qualcomm’s Media Flo already allows AT&T Inc. and Verizon Wireless subscribers to watch broadcast TV on their mobile phones. As its audience increasingly shifts to using video on demand, Flo will evolve to meet that need, said Alice Kim, vice president of strategy.
