BSkyB’s 3D Channel Serves as Training Ground for U.S. Programmers

BSkyB’s 3D channel, Sky 3D, continues to grow in the UK and has quickly become a valuable case study for 3D programmers. Sky 3D offers important lessons in both business models and emerging production techniques for 3D as U.S. programmers continue to push towards entirely 3D channels.

According to Multichannel News, Sky 3D now reaches more than 1,000 pubs and clubs in the UK with a potential audience of more than 100,000 for high-profile soccer matches. However, the largest step will come next fall when Sky 3D launches for residential customers with 3D-ready televisions.
