DirecTV Sports Networks Brings on Walker as VP of Marketing

DirecTV Sports Networks has hired Geoff Walker as the company’s new VP of marketing. In his role, Walker will be responsible for the strategic direction and execution of all marketing and communications in support of brand awareness and revenue generation for DirecTV Sports Networks and the company’s regional sports networks – FSN Northwest, FSN Pittsburgh, and FSN Rocky Mountain.

Walker brings to this newly created position at DirecTV Sports Networks more than 21 years of experience in the entertainment, technology and sports industries. Most recently, Walker served as the director of market development & channel marketing for T-Mobile, USA.

“Geoff Walker’s experience in the sports, entertainment, and technology fields is going to be essential as we prepare to enter the next growth phase of our business,” said Mark Shuken, president & CEO of DirecTV Sports Networks. “His expertise in brand marketing and business development will provide an immediate and lasting impact on how our networks are perceived by teams, affiliates, advertisers and viewers.”

A graduate of Washington State University, Walker’s previous roles in the sports and entertainment include positions at USA Productions/e2k, Microsoft, RealNetworks, and T-Mobile.

Based in Seattle, WA, Walker will begin at DirecTV Sports Networks on May 4.
