Streambox Pegs James Page as Director of Sports Broadcasting

Streambox has named James Page as director of sports broadcasting. In his new role, Page will work to develop new opportunities for Streambox to provide its line of IP-based video acquisition and transport solutions for cost-effective, high-quality coverage of remote sporting events.

“Throughout my career, I have been drawn to game-changing technologies and opportunities to educate customers on groundbreaking new ways to solve key business problems — and that’s what attracted me to Streambox,” says Page. “Sports broadcasters are challenged in the same way as news organizations to find a reliable means of covering remote events without having to deploy costly satellite vehicles. Just as it revolutionized field newsgathering, Streambox’s IP-based technology is paving the way for sports broadcasters to cost-effectively deliver exciting, high-quality live coverage of events to their viewers.”

Page has more than 10 years’ experience in technical sales management with a career focus on digital broadcasting and file-based video workflows. Prior to joining Streambox, he served various roles fro Canned Digital, Vqual, Tektronix, and Snell. Page holds a software engineering honors degree from De Montfort University.

“Sports is the most lucrative segment of the broadcasting industry, and as such is driving a large percentage of technology innovation,” says Bob Hildeman, chairman and CEO of Streambox. “Thus, the sports broadcasting market is ripe with opportunities for our video transport solutions. As a respected digital video specialist with a solid track record leading customer-focused product development, James is an ideal choice to help our company expand its presence in the exciting realm of sports broadcasting.”
