Axis Global Logistics Aims To Educate and Be Educated as SVG Sponsor

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome its newest sponsor, Axis Global Logistics. Axis Global specializes in on-demand delivery of critical shipments of any size, weight, or dollar value. The company operates 24/7, 365 days a year and offers a wide-range of logistics services in the areas of domestic and international transportation, carnet and customs documentation preparation, warehousing and fulfillment services. Axis serves various high end industries including, marketing and advertising, broadcast production, financial services, and legal services, plus numerous other manufacturing industries with a need for time critical logistics requirements.

Over this past year, Axis Global has provided logistics support for many high-profile sporting events including the Super Bowl, the Pro Bowl, March Madness and the Final Four, the Players Championship, and has also coordinated the complete set up of a film shoot at a NASCAR event for a major cable network.  This month for a major financial services firm, Axis is coordinating the event logistics, including production gear, supplies, tents, merchandise items to the 2010 US Open at Pebble Beach.

As an SVG sponsor, Axis Global hopes to better educate its organization on the latest product trends within the broadcast industry in an effort to better serve the industry as a whole.

“Axis is joining SVG as a sponsor so that we can better understand the challenges facing the broadcasting industry when it comes to the area of logistics,” says Brian Harvey, Axis Executive Vice President. “We understand that today’s broadcast industry is under constant pressure to reduce costs and to do more work with less manpower and internal resources, including IT support. As a company focused on supply chain management principals, our goal is to gain a thorough understanding of our clients unique requirements and then design a logistics program that best suits our client’s needs.”

“To cite just one example, Axis can provide several supply chain technology applications that can be implemented to control the forward and reverse flow of assets during deliveries and event strikes. The Axis technology can provide an actual “virtual” warehouse management (WMS) and transportation management (TMS) solution by event. “

Headquartered in Maspeth Queens New York, the company employs 120 staff members across nine strategic office locations, with an additional 850 freight forwarding agents worldwide.

“We are eager to educate the industry on identifying ‘cost saving’ business solutions within the broadcast supply chain processes,” says Harvey.  “During these economic times it’s essential that the broadcast industry realize the benefits of an integrated supply chain management solution.  These benefits can lead to not only significant reductions in costs, but can also automate existing manual processes to reduce time during event strikes, and to enhance the visibility of production gear at events utilizing the latest supply chain technology.   We are excited to be a sponsor of such a dynamic association and industry.”
