XOS Digital To Revamp Home of Bradley University Men’s Basketball

XOS Digital will provide A/V integration services for Carver Arena at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, IL, home of the Bradley University men’s basketball team and the Peoria Rivermen AHL ice hockey team (Triple-A affiliate of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues). The company will enable a wide variety of broadcast cameras and production equipment to operate in conjunction with the arena’s new video scoreboard.

XOS Digital is partnering with Daktronics for the project at the 12,248-seat multipurpose arena. While Daktronics will implement a new video scoreboard, XOS Digital will assimilate the arena’s video control room with production cameras, a technical director’s station, the main production switcher, and an instant replay system station.

Carver arena is a multipurpose facility owned by the Peoria Civic Center Authority, managed by SMG. In addition to serving  Bradley Braves men’s basketball and the Peoria Rivermen, the arena hosts major events such as Disney on Ice, the WWE RAW World Tour, the Rodeo, and the Monster Jam truck show.

“All of Carver Arena’s teams, musical groups, and shows will benefit from our advanced production solutions,” says Mark Hudgins, Integrated Solutions Group president, XOS Digital. “With this integration project, Carver Arena is demonstrating its level of commitment to operational excellence for an enhanced experience for all of its visitors. We’re proud to partner with it to provide added value for its collective audience.”

The project is scheduled for completion by Sept. 2010, and will feature a broadcast-quality camera system with the ability to output both HD and SD signals. In addition, its new camera system will enable video staff to capture sideline coverage along with wide-angle court shots. The arena’s video control room will also have a new production switcher, multi-view monitoring abilitie,s and an HD character generator for use with its new scoreboard.
“Through our partnership with XOS Digital and Daktronics, we’ll soon be empowered to significantly impact our fan and audience experience in a dynamic new way,” sysd Jim Wetherington, assistant GM, Peoria Civic Center. “The technology is out there, and we’re proud to leverage it for the benefit of everyone in our audience. I look forward to seeing these new digital resources put into action.”
