Ascent Appoints Three New Executives

Ascent Media Group has announced the appointment of Larry Birstock to senior vice president, Media Services; Alan Silvers to vice president, Media Service; and Charlie Mitchell to vice president, Digital Services Group. All three will be based in Ascent Media’s DMDC in Burbank, CA and report to Adam Poulter, senior vice president, Global Media and Digital Services.

Prior to joining Ascent Media, Birstock served as president, global integration at Prime Focus where he was primarily responsible for integrating the company’s global operations. Before that he served as CEO at Post Logic Studios and VP and GM at Technicolor Creative Services.

Charlie Mitchell most recently served as SVP, sales at Origin Digital where he oversaw the creation and execution of the company’s revenue-generating activities and was responsible for the acquisition of new customers, including Comcast and Cisco. Previously, Mitchell held various senior positions at StreamSign Media, Savvis, Runway, Inc., Picture PipeLine, 3 Point Digital, and MCI Worldcom.

Silvers previously served as VP, new initiatives at Reliance Mediaworks where he spearheaded business development and sales of digital image processing services. Silvers also served as director, technical services at Cinesite and supervised HD mastering at the Walt Disney Company.
