Chyron Graphics Bring Verizon’s Giants-Patriots 3D Telecast to Life

The NFL in 3D hit homes last week as the New York Giants vs. The New England Patriots preseason tilt at New Meadowlands Stadium marked the the first ever 3D broadcast of an NFL game on television.  Verizon FiOS1 is produced the game using Chyron’s HyperX3 technology to bring the game to life exclusively for FiOS TV customers.

Verizon FiOS’s 3D broadcast featuring Chyron’s on-air was provided to customers in parts of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. FiOS Customers with a 3D TV sets, 3D glasses and a HD set-top box were able to view the broadcast.

This marks the ninth live 3D sports event powered by Chyron.  Others include the NBA All-Star Game (February 2008), the NBA All-Star Saturday Night event, (February 2009), 6 Nations Rugby Games, (February 2010), the 3D NHL Broadcast at Madison Square Garden (March 2010), Yankees vs. Mariners Game on YES and FSN Northwest (July 2010), MLB All-Star Game on FOX, (July 2010), NASCAR’s Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway by Turner (July 2010), and the PGA Championship  (August 2010).
