CCW 2010: JVC Intros Affordable Vérité ‘R Series’ Broadcast Monitors

At CCW 2010 in New York this week, JVC Professional Products Company (Booth 901) today expanded its popular Vérité Series of professional monitors with the new “R Series”. The new DT-R24L4D 24-inch and DT-R17L4D 17-inch LCD monitors offer the same 10-bit 1080p processing for critical image evaluation as the G Series that was introduced earlier this year, and are housed in durable metal cabinets that make them ideal for broadcast, studio, education, and mobile applications.

The new R Series features an advanced on-screen audio level meter and LTC/VITC time code support, as well as a non-glossy IPS LCD panel, which provides improved picture quality and maintains accurate color reproduction at wide viewing angles. Both models are equipped with a built-in speaker and adjustable stand, plus traditional rotary knobs for sound and picture control.

Priced approximately $1,000 less than its G Series counterparts, the R Series is ideal for broadcasters who require high image quality, but do not need 3G or dual link inputs, closed captioning, waveform monitor, or vectorscope.

“JVC’s LCD monitors have become the leading broadcast monitors in the U.S. market because of our commitment to performance, versatility, and value,” says Craig Yanagi, national marketing and brand manager. “Our new R Series, designed based on feedback from our customers requesting a streamlined version of the G Series, is built on the same robust chassis and maintains the key features that matter most, without compromising image quality or durability.”

The 24-inch DT-R24L4D (MSRP $3,995) offers native 1920×1080 resolution, and the 17-inch DT-R17L4D (MSRP $2,395) offers 1366×768 resolution. Both models are now available.
