Family Trust Established in Memory of Turner Sports’ Tom Cox
A trust to help pay for the educational costs of the sons of the late Tom Cox, Turner Sports senior director of remote operations, has been established as a tribute to a dear friend and colleague of the industry. The trusts, one for his son Aaron and another for his son Taylor have been set up with the help of the law firm Balllard Spahr, LLP and Tom’s widow, Gina, is the trustee for both trusts. Gina will administrate the trusts and make sure the funds are distributed to the boys on an as needed basis. They are designed to assist until both of the sons reach the age of 25.
If you, any of your staff, friends or family would like to assist with the fund, contributions can be sent to:
Gina Leigh Cox, Trustee of the Cox Family Trust
2235 Monroe Drive
Alpharetta, GA 30004
Your contribution will be divided equally between the accounts for each child.
Please note that these trusts are not charitable organizations, so your gift is not deductible as a donation to charity. That said, they are established in such a way that you are not liable for Gift Tax unless your gift exceeds the $13,000 per beneficiary per year limit, Contributions will also not be subject to GST tax as they will fall within your lifetime exemption.
