Ratings Roundup: TBS League Championship Ratings Up 26% Over Last Year

The New York Yankees and Texas Rangers continued to draw solid viewership for TBS’ coverage of the ALCS. The Yankees 7-2 Game 5 victory forced a sixth game and drew a 4.1 U.S household rating and 6.1 million viewers. Those numbers were down 18% in ratings and 24% in viewership from Game 5 of last year’s NLCS on TBS (Dodgers-Phillies, 5.0, 7.978 mil). NBC’s six-week viewership of 21.4 million is nearly two million more than and nine percent above last year’s 19.7 million for the opening six weeks of the NFL season and up 29 percent over the first six weeks in 2008 (16.6 million).
