Sony Brings In-Stadium Replays, Highlights to PSPs in Japan

Handheld devices are popping up in stadium around the U.S. more and more each season – whether it is Kangaroo TV’s FanVision handhelds already being used at a handful of NFL stadiums or the battalion of downloadable GPS-based apps that allow fans to share their in-stadium experience with others. Sony has now jumped aboard, delivering in-game video content to fans at stadiums in Japan on its PSP portable console.

The service, which launched last weekend during the the Kashima Antlers stadium near Tokyo on Sunday, provides spectators with a game feed, slo-motion replays, highlights, analysis, and other data via a Wi-Fi network. The service was offered to fans at Kashima Stadium for free.
