XOS Digital Renews Content Licensing Partnership with BCS

XOS Digital has renewed its content licensing partnership with the Bowl Championship Series (BCS), including the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, Discover Orange Bowl, Allstate Sugar Bowl and BCS National Championship games, through 2014.

The deal names XOS Digital as the “sole and exclusive” licensing agency to provide, distribute, sell, syndicate, market and license content owned by the BCS. Additional contract terms for the partnership were not disclosed.

“We’re very happy to continue our partnership with XOS Digital in order to maximize the value of the BCS games’ media assets for the next four years,” says Bill Hancock, executive director, BCS. “Over the past four years, XOS Digital’s media licensing expertise exceeded our expectations by aggressive licensing and thorough monitoring and rights-enforcement.”

As the exclusive media rights clearance agency of record for BCS Properties LLC, XOS Digital provides a uniform and streamlined licensing process. Content requests, including editorial, news and commercial media, are filtered through XOS Digital’s licensing process to ensure that proper intellectual property (IP) protections remain in place.

“We are pleased to extend this valuable partnership with the BCS group,” says Chris McCleary, XOS Digital’s CEO. “The partnership includes licensing services that ensure these important media rights are protected, while preserving the integrity of the bowl games and their content assets.”

As part of the agreement, XOS Digital will provide BCS Properties content licensing services that include:

  • Video clips – For use in national television and Internet commercials, feature films, TV shows, content packages, and original programming.
  • Full-game programming – For use in consumer media (DVD series) and produced documentaries with local, regional, and national broadcast networks.
  • Photos – For use in books, magazines, editorial, on-demand products, and direct-to-consumer sales.
  • Enforcement policies and procedures – Credential language created specifically for the BCS bowl games.
