ESPN Launches ScoreCenter on Samsung Net-Enabled TVs

ESPN has launched its ScoreCenter application on Samsung internet-enabled TVs. Previously available on the iPhone and iPad, the application allows fans to view scores and stats from a variety of sports on their television. ScoreCenter is now available via the Samsung Apps store.

Scoreboards and live game details can expand to include in-game stats, scores and schedules. Personalization features allow viewers to customize their ScoreCenter experience by highlighting their favorite teams and leagues.  The app can be positioned across the top, bottom or sides of the screen.  The video image adjusts accordingly, depending on the placement of the app.

The move comes as a host of internet-connected TVs hit the market in anticipation of the holiday shopping season and follows similar attempts by ESPN to gain further access to the living room. In November, ESPN3.com and other ESPN content launched on Xbox Live.
