New SVG Sponsor Lyon Video Building Lyon-12 Production Truck
Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Lyon Video as a mobile/integrator sponsor. Established in 1986, Lyon Video provides mobile TV-production facilities, full-service video and film production, postproduction, and DVD authoring.
The company has begun construction on its newest mobile-production truck, Lyon-12. It will be built on the Lyon-11 floor plan, which hit the road in 2010 and is noted for its flexibility and efficient use of available space. Lyon-12 will be equipped with GVG-8000 cameras and the new Artemis console from Calrec.
Lyon-11 is currently the biggest, most technologically advanced mobile unit in the Lyon Video family. The 53-ft. expando unit debuted with an ESPN/ABC college-football production package in September.
Lyon-11 is the second truck in the fleet to feature a Grass Valley 4.5 M/E Kayenne production switcher and the first to have an Evertz EQX 3G router, which allows 1080p production. Along with the 3-Gbps technology comes 3D capability, since the Evertz router can handle single-stream 3D, sending the 1080p 3-Gbps signal to multiviewers as separate left-eye/right-eye feeds. It also features a Calrec Apollo audio console. Lyon-11 uses an Evertz EMR audio router with a 1344×1344 MADI matrix. It carries four EVS XT+ replay servers, purchased in part for their upgrade path to 3-Gbps transmission. Lyon-11 is equipped with 14 Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite WorldCam cameras, with both triax and 3G-over-fiber base stations. The truck also features one Grass Valley LDK 8300 3X Super SloMo camera, one LDK 8000 SportCam (2x SloMo), and a Chyron Duet HyperX3 graphics engine.
