Vizrt CMS Drives German News Portal

German newspaper printing and publishing house, BZV, has selected Vizrt’s Online Content Management System (CMS) to drive the news portal www.general-anzeiger-bonn.de.

“We’re proud to have such a highly regarded newspaper as our next customer in the German market,” says Eirik Svendsen, EVP online, Vizrt. “This deal clearly demonstrates the important role that media-rich functionality plays in the distribution of online content.”

The core of Vizrt’s online system, Escenic Content Engine, will publish content to multiple channels, providing instant flow of information to websites and channels directly from Escenic Content Studio, the module that enables online design, layout, and content creation. Vizrt’s Online Content Management System provides a single production pipeline for text, image, and video where content can be published to an unlimited number of devices.

“For us to expand and build the newspaper newsroom of the future, we need to ensure we’re delivering high-quality news across all media channels,” says Thorsten Cöhring, Online Site Manager and Project Leader of Bonner Zeitungsdruckerei und Verlagsanstalt H. Neusser GmbH (BZV). “The challenge is not only to concentrate the editorial staff of our online and print departments in one newsroom, but also to integrate the different editorial systems in a cost-efficient way. By choosing Vizrt’s Content Management System, we’re confident that we’ll have the tools necessary to provide our readers with the service they expect – and more.”

Vizrt’s online content management system currently powers approximately 600 media websites worldwide, including: Axel Springer (die Welt, Hamburger Abendblatt, BZ, Bergerdorfer Zeitung, Berliner Morgenpost); N-TV, WAZ (der Westen); News International; St. Petersburg Times; Cox Newspapers; Canadian Globe and Mail; the UK-based TimesOnline; The Sun; News of the World; The Daily Telegraph; The Independent; Scandinavian Schibsted; Bonnier and TV 2 Norway.
