CSN Mid-Atlantic Pegs Ray Frager to Helm Digital Efforts

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic has announced that veteran Washington/Baltimore-area sports editor and writer Ray Frager has been named managing editor for the network’s digital media portfolio, including CSNwashington.com and CSNbaltimore.com.

In this newly-created position, Frager will direct editorial content for the CSN Mid-Atlantic’s digital media platforms and oversee writers, producers, and multimedia reporters that supply coverage to CSNwashington.com, CSNbaltimore.com, and network’s other digital assets. He will also lead the continued expansion of the network’s social media and mobile efforts and assist with the department’s overall operations.

A 25-year journalism veteran, Frager joins Comcast SportsNet from FoxSports.com, where he was a web content producer and editor. Prior to that, Frager spent more than 24 years with The Baltimore Sun and BaltimoreSun.com as an assistant sports editor (1992 to 2009) and sports copy desk chief (1985 to 1992). In addition to his duties as an editor, he wrote a sports media column and blog for The Sun and served as an editor for several books published by the newspaper, including one on the Baltimore Ravens’ Super Bowl championship season.

Before joining The Sun, Frager served as a sports editor and reporter with The Dallas Morning News and The Trenton Times. A native of Claymont, DE, he is a graduate of Rider University and recently completed work on two soon-to-be published children’s books on the Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates.

Frager and recently-hired writers Mark Zuckerman and Rich Tandler – along with their websites, NatsInsider.com and RealRedskins.com – are the most recent additions to Comcast SportsNet’s growing digital media department.
