ESPN Launches ScoreCenter App on Windows Phone 7

ESPN has launched its ESPN ScoreCenter app on Windows Phone 7.  The app is already available on the iPhone/iPod touch and Android devices.

The ScoreCenter app, which was customized for Windows Phone 7 in collaboration with Microsoft, gives fans one-touch access to scores from hundreds of global leagues in more than 15 sports. ESPN ScoreCenter is powered by ESPN’s global scores database and allows users to set personalized favorites.

Since its launch in June 2009, ScoreCenter has been downloaded more than 13 million times across iPhone and Android devices. ESPN Mobile has also delivered nearly 3.5 billion alerts to users in 2010, up nearly 300% from 2009.  Additionally, ESPN’s mobile Web site is the leading mobile Web sports site and was the eighth-most-trafficked site on the mobile Web overall in 2010.  Last year, it averaged 12.4 million unique visitors a month, up 37% compared to the previous year.

ESPN and Microsoft’s ScoreCenter collaboration follows a content distribution deal signed in June 2010 that delivers ESPN3.com, VOD clips from ESPN.com, and other ESPN content to the Xbox LIVE platform on Xbox 360 consoles.
