Riedel’s MediorNet Compact Earns TV Technology Star Award

At this year’s NAB in Las Vegas, MediorNet Compact from Riedel Communications received a TV Technology Star Award. The STAR Awards (for Superior Technology Award Recipient) are designed to celebrate and showcase the preeminent technological innovations available to the media industry.

MediorNet Compact is the cost effective entry into the Riedel MediorNet world of integrated media signal distribution and processing. It provides the flexibility of a real-time media network, including integrated signal processing, at the cost of simple multiplexing point-to-point products. With a network bandwidth of 50 Gbit/s MediorNet Compact provides enough capacity for bi-directional transport of 12 HD-SDI signals, dozens of MADI streams or Gbit-Ethernet signals and hundreds of audio channels or intercom ports – ideal for streamlining the infrastructure of mobile, studio or live event applications.

The Star Awards’ winners are chosen by a judging panel of broadcast industry experts reviewing the products and examining the technical applications and the product’s contribution to the industry.

“The NAB show serves as the launching pad for thousands of new products and services for audio and video professionals,” says Tom Butts, TV Technology Editor-in-Chief. “Our panel of editors walked the show floor in search of the most innovative technologies. The products and services that we selected for the STAR Award made the cut—they demonstrated their ability to help advance the acquisition and distribution of entertainment and information across the media spectrum.”
