Sony Optical Cameras Compatible with XOS Coaching Systems

XOS Digital and Sony Electronics are working together to deliver more comprehensive video production systems for professional and collegiate sports customers. Sony’s full line of XDCAM EX and optical camcorders are fully compatible with XOS video and data analysis tools, including Thunder 6.0.  Full compatibility is available when recording in either HD or SD modes on the cameras.

The integration of Sony and XOS technologies are currently in use by several teams and organizations. These solutions allow teams and coaching staffs to streamline their video review methods and ensure higher levels of quality control in their video production. XOS and Sony plan to continue to work together on solutions for customers in all areas of the sports industry, including facility and stadium managers, athletic directors, coaches and information technology managers, among others.

“XOS’ ability to provide a wide range of services, from coaching solutions to facility design and integration, is a perfect complement to what Sony offers its customers,” says Mark Bonifacio, senior marketing manager at Sony Electronics. “By working together, we’re able to reach a broader base of customers, as well as expand our products and services into new areas of the professional and collegiate sports market.”

Sony Electronics’ high-definition production technologies – cameras, switchers, displays, decks and more – are in use at ballparks, stadiums and arenas across the U.S., capturing and creating content for playback on LED screens and HD displays throughout a facility.

“Sony has an excellent track record in broadcast and production technology,” adds Chris McCleary, CEO, XOS Digital. “Working together, we have a unique ability to focus on professional and collegiate sports and combine both of our resources, especially as more and more schools and professional sports teams move into the HD realm.”
