Wunderman Sends Media Around the World via Signiant Media Exchange

Wunderman, agency of record for worldwide relationship marketing for Microsoft, has chosen the Signiant Media Exchange (MX) solution to drive the company’s global exchange of media assets. Signiant MX provides a rapid, secure means for Wunderman to ingest creative assets from its partners and then distribute the digital content out to its global subsidiaries for localization and deployment.

“We promise our clients the ability to drive global e-marketing campaigns that move at the speed of digits — and Signiant MX is a critical link in our ability to deliver on that promise. We’ve taken a big leap forward by being able to exchange content at speed with no errors,” says Greg Cowan, IT director, Wunderman. “With Signiant MX, we’ve been able to accelerate our file transfers with little or no restrictions on file size, and offer a pleasing Web interface to our remote customers that streamlines both uploading and downloading. As a result, we’ve significantly reduced the lag time from content creation to market delivery to help ensure that campaigns are launched on time and on budget.”

Wunderman’s business depends on the ability to rapidly receive and manage large volumes of digital content, such as pop-up ads, Flash content, email campaign components, and pre-roll video submitted by Web producers and other creative partners. Now, these partners access the Signiant MX Web interface to instantly send large batches of files with the average file transfer consisting of 100 gigabytes.

According to Signiant, a large selling point for Wunderman was Signiant MX’s ability to provide granular security to designate categories of users with specific access requirements. For instance, different creative agencies can be given rights to upload specific types of content to specific folders, without the ability to access folders of other partners.

As opposed to Wunderman’s previous content exchange system, Signiant MX has the ability to automatically resume a download at the point in which it stopped, following recovery from a network error. This is particularly valuable for guaranteed distribution of assets to Wunderman’s global subs, which are often located in countries and areas with less-than-reliable Internet infrastructures. “Before, a networking error usually meant the download had to be started over from the beginning — but now, Signiant MX can resume the job so quickly that often the recipients on the other end aren’t even aware that an error occurred,” says Cowan.

“As the e-marketing agency of record for one of the world’s most recognizable computing brands, Wunderman is a textbook example of Signiant’s great value to global enterprises that rely on fast, secure, and highly reliable exchanges of digital content with their trading partners,” says Tony Lapolito, vice president of product management and marketing for Signiant. “We’re pleased that Signiant MX is now providing such a crucial link in the Wunderman content supply chain, on both the ingest and delivery sides of the business.”
