A Farewell from SVG’s Carolyn Braff

Dear SVG Members, Sponsors, and Friends,

It is with very mixed emotions that I write to tell you that today is my last full-time day at SVG. I have moved to Chicago and will be pursuing my MBA at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. After my two years in the full-time program, I expect to return to the sports industry in a brand management role, so I hope to come into contact with many of you again, somewhere down the road.

The past four years at SVG have been unforgettable for me, both from a professional and personal standpoint. I have loved working with and getting to know so many different faces in the sports technology world, and I will miss interacting with all of you so regularly. I never expected to make so many friends in an industry that was so daunting to me when I began. I am indebted to all of you for taking my calls, helping me to learn, and generally accepting me into what I have found is an incredibly close-knit professional community.

Moving forward, I will remain involved with SVG in a freelance role, and will also continue to direct SVG’s Women’s Sports Media Initiative (Like Us on Facebook!). Our next WSMI event will take place on September 1 in Chicago (feel free to email me for more details). I will continue to use my [email protected] email address, so you can continue to reach me there.

Jason Dachman will shift into my role as managing editor and can be contacted at [email protected] if you have any questions about the transition. In addition, I would like to welcome two new members to the SVG Team: associate editor Brandon Costa ([email protected]) and assistant editor Karen Hogan ([email protected]).

Thank you for everything over the past four years. I have absolutely loved my time at SVG, and that is a tribute to how wonderful it is to work with all of you. Please keep in touch, and I hope to see you again very soon.

Very Best Wishes,
Carolyn Braff
Director, Women’s Sports Media Initiative
